O’Connor lands silver as Pogacar sweeps to world glory

Ben O’Connor of Australia won the silver medal at the world championships in Zurich, but Tadej Pogacar, the three-time Tour de France champion, emerged victorious in the men’s road race. Pogacar made a stunning solo attack with 100km remaining in the 273km race, finishing 34 seconds ahead of his closest competitor to claim the rainbow jersey, adding to his previous victories in the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.
