Three candidates for the Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 School Board have had their nominating papers challenged, with objections raised by fellow candidates Josh Gertz and Nate Mellman. Gertz challenged Tania Haigh for not filing the required statement of candidacy, while Mellman objected to incumbent Audrey Williams-Lee for clerical errors and alleged conflict of interest. Three individuals, including Carren Van Slyke, have also tried to remove Mellman from the ballot, citing concerns over his complaints of antisemitism and potential conflicts of interest. The Cook County Electoral Board will make the final decision on their candidacy.
