Auckland Thunderstorm Warning Issued; Northland Alert Canceled

A severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Auckland has been lifted as the region experiences tumultuous weather during the festive season. MetService initially detected severe thunderstorms with heavy hail affecting areas including Auckland City, Waitākere, and Rodney. Although thunderstorms were moving southeast towards various suburbs and Auckland Airport, the warning has now been rescinded. Similarly, a warning for Northland was also lifted after storms were tracked near Tangiteroria and Maungakaramea.
