Kim Jong Un participates in latest public event to honour North Korean troops who served with Russian forces in war against Ukraine.
Kim Jong Un recently held a ceremony in Pyongyang to welcome home the 528th Regiment of Engineers, who assisted Russian forces in Ukraine. He praised their “mass heroism” during their 120-day deployment, which included mine clearing in the Kursk region. Kim announced the regiment would receive the Order of Freedom and Independence, honoring the nine soldiers who died during their service. This event follows previous ceremonies recognizing North Korean troops’ contributions to the conflict.
