North Korea is introducing drone training in its civil defense military drills for the first time, although the lack of available drones means the training will be theoretical. Supreme leader Kim Jong Un has expressed interest in mass-producing “suicide” drones that explode when flown into targets, with training now being extended to thousands of ordinary citizens in the civil defense forces. While North Korea is looking to improve its drone production capacity, the actual distribution of military drones remains uncertain despite new drone technology courses and drone pilot training being conducted at various military universities within the country.
