Brown fired by Tar Heels, to coach vs. Wolfpack

Andrea Adelson, ESPN Senior Writer, reported that North Carolina announced the departure of head coach Mack Brown following a 6-5 season. Brown, who has a combined 113-78-1 record at UNC, will coach the team in their regular-season finale but his status for the bowl game is uncertain. Athletic director Bubba Cunningham praised Brown’s contributions to the program but confirmed the search for a new head coach will begin.
