University of Alabama researchers have named a newly discovered ancient crab fossil, Costacopluma nicksabani, in honor of legendary head coach Nick Saban, adding to the tributes on campus that include a statue and Saban Field. This discovery, which includes eight different species found at a fossil site, marks the most diverse collection of crabs and shrimps in North America shortly after the dinosaur extinction.
