Nicholas Hoult “kind of cackled” upon being cast as Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s ‘Superman’, feeling destined for the role after reading the script. He had previously auditioned for the role of Batman in Matt Reeves’ film, but ultimately lost out to Robert Pattinson. Despite feeling initial disappointment, Hoult recognized Pattinson as the right choice and expressed excitement at being a part of the project.
