In a deal with the Western Australian government, embattled home builder Nicheliving has agreed to surrender its building license for ten years, with directors Ronnie Michel-Elhaj and Paul Bitdorf barred from re-registering under any name. Customers left with unfinished homes after years of displacement will be able to access up to $200,000 through the Home Indemnity Insurance Scheme, while taxpayers are expected to foot a $40 million bill to fix the mess. Despite the building ban, Michel-Elhaj and Bitdorf can still work in the property sector, leading customers to consider further legal action.
