Fire rescue: Passing motorists help save elderly woman from burning car

Two motorists assisted Officer Nicholas Contino in rescuing a 68-year-old woman trapped in a burning vehicle after a rollover crash in Chester, New York, on Sunday. The police arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. and, with help from the Good Samaritans, Contino broke through the sunroof to pull the woman to safety, who suffered third-degree burns and was hospitalized in stable condition. Chester police commended Officer Contino for his actions, which significantly increased the victim’s chances of survival.
