New speedboat service launched from Bali to East Java

Island-hopping is a popular aspect of the Bali holiday experience, with destinations like Nusa Lembongan and Gili Trawangan easily accessible by dedicated speed boats. However, East Java, Bali’s neighboring province, offers significant attractions, including G-Land surf spot, Mount Ijen with its blue fire phenomenon, and Tumpak Sewa, Indonesia’s largest waterfall. Despite its appeal, travel to East Java involves navigating the dangerous Gilimanuk-Denpasar Bypass and the treacherous Bali Strait, which has a history of ferry disasters. A new option from Serangan Port to Banyuwangi via Express Bahari offers a safer and quicker journey, taking just four hours for a fare starting at $20.
