Cybersecurity researchers have revealed a new Rust-based backdoor named ChaosBot, which enables threat actors to conduct reconnaissance and execute arbitrary commands on compromised systems. The report from eSentire highlighted that attackers exploited compromised credentials linked to a Cisco VPN and an over-privileged Active Directory account named ‘serviceaccount.’
