New European Commission takes office with strong mandate

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, in her second term, leads a new team of European Union Commissioners who took office on 1 December 2024. The European Parliament endorsed the new College of Commissioners in a vote on 27 Nov 2024. Von der Leyen aims to shape the EU’s future through ambitious policies to make Europe stronger, safer, and fairer over the next five years.
