New AI-powered cameras are catching THOUSANDS of UK drivers & they’re not just spotting speeding offences

Across the UK, hundreds of AI-powered cameras have been deployed to catch drivers speeding or committing offenses, with 2,341 offenders caught since their launch in 2021. The use of AI technology has seen a 14% increase in speeding fines over the last three years, with a total of 3.3 million fines issued in 2024. The cameras can detect drivers not wearing seatbelts or using mobile phones, and have led to a rise in awareness and compliance among drivers on the road.
