Nestle faces criticism over baby health in Africa, Asia, Latin America
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Swiss food giant Nestlé is accused by NGO Public Eye of putting babies’ health at risk by adding sugar to its baby food products in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, despite removing sugar from similar products sold in Europe. The report highlights that 93% of Nestlé’s baby food in these regions contains added sugar, contradicting World Health Organization guidelines. Nestlé, which controls 20% of the global baby food market, defends its practices as necessary to combat malnutrition. The organization calls for an end to what it describes as a harmful double standard in nutrition across different markets.
