Rohingya refugee found dead after release from border patrol

Outrage has erupted in New York following the death of 56-year-old Rohingya refugee Nurul Amin Shah Alam, who was nearly blind and medically vulnerable. He was found dead days after being released by US Border Patrol agents at a Tim Hortons restaurant, miles from his home. Officials have described the drop-off as a “courtesy ride.” The incident has raised serious concerns about the treatment of vulnerable individuals in immigration processes.
