SINGAPORE: Ruzdiman Salhan Mohamed Salim, a route inspector with the NEA, was sentenced to 24 weeks in jail for soliciting bribes from cleaning service employees, resulting in a penalty of S$2,420. Over several years, he leveraged his position to pressure employees into lending him money under the pretext of personal financial issues, ultimately pleading guilty to five corruption charges. Ruzdiman’s actions not only abused his authority but also directly affected the employees’ bonuses, highlighting significant corruption within the agency.
