NASA’s Mars Perseverance rover collected its 26th rock sample, named “Silver Mountain,” using its Sample Caching System Camera. The rock is abundant in low-calcium pyroxene, a unique find along the rover’s route in Jezero Crater. The sealed sample will be transported to Earth for analysis as part of NASA’s Mars Sample Return mission.
