NASA’s Artemis II Faces Delay, Targeting Early April Launch
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Engineers faced issues repressurizing the Artemis II moon rocket’s upper stage helium tanks, necessitating the rocket’s rollback to the Vehicle Assembly Building for repairs, delaying the mission from March to early April. The mission aims to send four astronauts, including Reid Wiseman and Christina Koch, around the moon to test the Orion capsule ahead of the Artemis III lunar landing in 2028. Despite successful fueling tests, earlier hydrogen leaks had already postponed the launch. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman acknowledged the disappointment but emphasized the program’s long-term goals for lunar exploration.
