This anticipation builds up as Musk is slated to visit the country later in the month for a pivotal discussion on potential deals with the Prime Minister. As per media reports, during his visit, Musk might unveil Tesla’s investment strategy for India, along with plans to establish a new manufacturing facility within the nation. This venture marks a significant step for Tesla as it looks to expand its global footprint.

Now, this won’t be the first encounter of Musk and PM Modi, as the two have already met a couple of times earlier. Here’s a quick timeline:

2015 Meet At Tesla Factory

Musk and PM Modi’s interactions trace back to 2015, during the latter’s tour of the United States. Amidst meetings with various notable American figures, PM Modi’s itinerary included a visit to Tesla Motors’ factory in California. It was here that Modi and Musk had their inaugural meeting, engaging in extensive discussions and a guided tour of the facility, showcasing the burgeoning mutual interest in technological and industrial collaboration.

Musk’s admiration for Modi was evident, with the Tesla CEO declaring himself a “fan” of the Prime Minister.
