Myanmar’s Arakan Army captures Ann town, focus now on army HQ

Insurgents in Myanmar’s Rakhine state, led by the Arakan Army, have captured the military’s last posts in Ann town and are now targeting a nearby army headquarters, marking significant progress in their quest for control over the entire state. The rebels have successfully taken over most of the town, prompting the remaining civilians to seek refuge in the forest. The AA has made steady advances over the past year, now controlling about 80% of Rakhine state and launching attacks on key military installations in strategic locations.
