Relief efforts are hindered by damaged infrastructure, a civil war, and extreme heat, with locals clearing rubble without heavy equipment. The quake also affected Thailand, causing 17 deaths and a collapsed building in Bangkok, with rescue efforts ongoing as many remain missing.
