Musk’s Task Force Begins Shutting Down Foreign Policy Research Center

The head of the Wilson Center, Mark Green, a Republican, resigned following a visit from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency team, as part of Trump administration’s efforts to largely dismantle the nonpartisan policy group. The center’s federal employees were placed on administrative leave, with leadership staff and senior government employees also ousted. The Wilson Center, founded in 1968 as a memorial to Woodrow Wilson, faces an uncertain future as it seeks to comply with an executive order to reduce its presence and function, potentially impacting its fellowships and scholarships.
