While the NHS recommends exclusive breastfeeding for six months, only half of mothers succeed, with many citing inadequate guidance on formula feeding. The report highlights that over half of surveyed women felt unprepared for their feeding journey, with significant stigma surrounding formula feeding, resulting in mental health struggles for many mothers.
