The mother of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos described her anguish as immigration agents detained her partner, Adrián Conejo Arias, and took Liam after confronting them outside their home in Minnesota. Erika Ramos, who watched from a window, feared being arrested herself and did not open the door for her son. The Department of Homeland Security stated that Liam’s father fled, but Ramos denied this, asserting they entered the country legally.
