Montreal métro constables call for more weapons, but STM says no

The union representing Montreal’s métro constables, FCAP, has expressed concerns about the lack of essential equipment and rising violence, suggesting that officers may need tasers and firearms for security reasons. However, the STM has confirmed that it currently has no plans to arm the constables despite the safety risks highlighted by FCAP’s president, Kevin Grenier.
