A new operating wing is being added to Santa Cabrini Hospital in Montreal’s east end.
As many of Montreal’s hospitals age or undergo renovations, these conditions create ideal environments for pests. Documents obtained by CBC News reveal the expenditures on pest control for each major hospital from 2020 to the end of the 2024 fiscal year. In response to the increased risk of rodent infestations, hospitals have heightened preventive measures, such as spot checks, to mitigate the threat of critters entering their facilities.
