Monsoon Season Ends with Above-Normal Rains, Highest Surplus in Drought-Prone Rajasthan

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the seasonal rainfall from June to September was 108% of the long-period average (LPA), exceeding the normal range of 96-104% of LPA. Despite a delayed monsoon withdrawal in northwest and central India this week, excess rains are expected in October. The four-month monsoon season concluded with above-normal rains over India, benefiting drought-prone areas like West Rajasthan.
