MLS vs. Liga MX to dominate Leagues Cup lineup

The 2025 Leagues Cup will feature 18 Liga MX teams and 18 MLS representatives in a revamped format, including a Phase One group stage with inter-league matchups and a single-elimination quarterfinal stage. The top four teams from each league will advance to the quarterfinals, guaranteeing a minimum of 58 inter-league matches. The championship game will take place on Aug. 31, with the finalists and third-place winner earning a spot in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
