Millions in Sudan are facing severe food shortages amid ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, now in its third year. Many families in North Darfur and South Kordofan are reportedly subsisting on one meal a day and resorting to eating leaves and animal feed. Over 33 million people require humanitarian aid, with widespread famine conditions confirmed in some areas.
