Microsoft has denied plans to rewrite Windows 11 using AI and Rust, following backlash from a LinkedIn post by engineer Galen Hunt, who suggested a goal to eliminate C and C++ by 2030. Shaw, Microsoft’s communications head, clarified the company has no such intentions. Hunt later edited his post to emphasize that Windows is not being rewritten in Rust with AI.
