Michel Gondry is teaming up with Pharrell Williams, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and recent Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph for Atlantis, a new film inspired by Williams’ childhood in 1977 Virginia Beach. The film is described as a coming-of-age musical set in the city’s Atlantis Apartments.
While specific plot details have not been revealed, the project has been in the works since 2017. Screenwriters Martin Hynes and Steven Levenson are on board, with Gondry taking on the role of director. Originally, Michael Mayer was set to direct the film.
