Mexican drug lord ‘El Mencho’ killed after visit from romantic partner

A visit from a “romantic partner” led to the capture and death of Mexico’s drug lord “El Mencho”. The leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel was wounded and later died in a helicopter while being flown to Mexico City. The operation sparked violence across Mexico, resulting in the deaths of 25 National Guard members and others.
