Meteorite that landed in Georgia this summer determined to be older than Earth itself, researchers say

A meteorite that crashed in McDonough, Georgia, in June is estimated to be 4.56 billion years old, making it 20 million years older than Earth. Researchers from the University of Georgia identified it as a Low Metal ordinary Chondrite and are studying its origins, while the meteorite is the 27th found in Georgia’s history.
