Meta served POFMA order over users’ reposting of false claims by anti-death penalty group

The Ministry of Home Affairs in Singapore has announced that Meta will receive a correction order under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA) due to users reposting false claims from the Transformative Justice Collective (TJC) regarding executions and drug trafficking charges. TJC had previously been issued correction orders for similar false statements. The ministry has instructed Meta Platforms to alert users of the false statements and provide a link to the government’s clarification without removing the original posts.
