Meta will retire Facebook’s external Like and Share buttons for third-party websites on February 10, 2026, marking the end of a significant traffic driver as Facebook’s influence wanes within Meta. According to a blog post, site admins are not required to take further action, though they can remove the plugins before the deadline. Remaining plugins will “gracefully degrade” to become invisible elements. This reflects the declining usage of Facebook features.
