Meta Ends Work Metaverse Project

Meta has announced the discontinuation of Horizon Workrooms, its virtual collaboration space, effective February 16, 2026. Alongside this, the company will cease sales of its managed services and commercial headsets for businesses by February 20, 2026. This decision follows significant layoffs within its Reality Labs division and a shift in focus towards mobile experiences rather than immersive VR. Existing users can access Horizon managed services until January 4, 2030, with licenses becoming free post-February 16, 2026.
