A mixture of snow, rain, and high winds is expected to cause major disruption in the UK on New Year’s Eve and throughout the following week, with multiple weather warnings issued by the Met Office. Chief forecaster Andy Page described the forecast as “complicated” and advised the public to regularly check for updates, as warnings may shift and escalate. A wind warning for gusts of up to 60mph has been issued for Monday in areas including Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria, and North Yorkshire, impacting travellers between 11am and 6pm.
