Argentina football icon Lionel Messi is on a three-day GOAT tour of India before the 2026 defence of FIFA World Cup.
Lionel Messi’s highly anticipated three-day “GOAT Tour” in India faced backlash after fans vandalized a stadium due to mismanagement during his first event, which was supposed to last 45 minutes but lasted only 20. Many ticket holders, who paid significant amounts, reported not seeing Messi at all. West Bengal police arrested the event’s chief organizer, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee apologized for the chaos, promising an inquiry. Messi’s tour is intended to promote football ahead of the upcoming World Cup in 2026, where he will defend his title.
