Screen legend Meryl Streep revealed on The Graham Norton Show in 2015 that she missed out on a major role in the 1976 King Kong remake due to her looks, as the director’s son thought she was “ugly.” Streep had been seen in a play and brought to meet the director, Dino De Laurentiis, but ultimately did not get the part.
