MEPs Condemn Global Human Rights Violations in Hong Kong, Iran, and Cambodia

MEPs have raised concerns over Hong Kong, calling for the immediate release of pro-democracy politicians, activists, and journalists like Jimmy Lai. They condemn the National Security Law, urge sanctions on officials responsible for human rights violations, and demand the revocation of Hong Kong’s trade privileges. Additionally, MEPs denounce the detention of women in Iran, demanding the repeal of discriminatory legislation, the release of women’s rights defenders, and unrestricted access for human rights investigations, as well as calling for an end to civil society repression in Cambodia and increased EU support for Cambodian civil society.
