Travellers’ Tales – Meet Vanessa Morgan from Traveling Cats

I have introduced the “Travellers’ Tales” section on my blog to provide a platform for fellow travellers to share their experiences. Today, I am delighted to introduce Vanessa, a travel blogger based in Brussels, Belgium, who runs the blog Traveling Cats.

My name is Vanessa Morgan, and I am the creator of Traveling Cats, a unique travel blog dedicated to cat lovers. On my blog, I showcase cat-themed destinations, cat cafés, and more. I am also an author of supernatural thrillers and horror movie reference guides, some of which feature cats. When I am not writing, you can find me enjoying a meal at a restaurant, engrossed in a book, or attending film festivals. I currently reside in Brussels, Belgium.

2. What is your earliest travel memory?

My earliest travel memories involve trips with my grandparents during my childhood. Although these trips were to more touristy destinations like Tenerife and Mallorca, they hold a special place in my heart.

3. Where was your last holiday?

My most recent holiday was a hiking trip in Les Hautes Fagnes, the Belgian Highlands. The snowy landscapes and breathtaking views made it a memorable experience.

4. What was the best thing you did there?

One of the highlights of my trip was hiking through the snow-covered Highlands. Additionally, staying at the charming and cozy Domaine des Hautes Fagnes hotel was a delightful experience that I highly recommend.

5. What was your best holiday ever? Why?

One of my best holidays was on the Greek island of Lesvos. This destination, particularly the town of Molyvos, felt like a fairytale come to life.

6. What is your favourite travel destination?

My favorite travel destination is Molyvos on Lesvos Island in Greece.

7. What is the one thing one must do there?

When visiting Molyvos, make sure to explore the picturesque town and savor its beauty. I recommend staying for a few days to truly appreciate the surroundings and indulge in the delicious food options. Don’t miss the nearby beaches of Petra and Anaxos for a day of relaxation, and be sure to visit Turtle Pond and the Monastery of Ypsilou.

8. Who is your favourite travel companion/s?

Initially, my favorite travel companions were my grandparents, but currently, it is my boyfriend. I also look forward to the day when I can travel with my cat.

9. Name one item you must have when travelling.

While I prefer to travel light, I always ensure to have my water bottle and some nutritious snacks with me as I tend to get hungry and thirsty during my travels.

10. Your best travel advice?

Locals often offer the best recommendations for unique and unexpected places to visit.

11. The one place you want to visit before you die?

Iceland is a destination that I am eager to explore in my lifetime.

12. How can people connect with you?
