Father-of-two on the run over indefinite prison sentence appeals to justice secretary to intervene

Matthew Booth, a Bolton father, is on the run after being recalled to prison under the indefinite Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentencing system for breaching his license conditions by allegedly restarting a relationship with the mother of his children, Abigail Vernon. Both deny the claims of being in a serious relationship. Booth has appealed to justice secretary Shabana Mahmood, offering to surrender himself if she intervenes in his case to prevent him from going back to prison.
