Matildas captain Sam Kerr, 31, announced on Instagram that she and partner Kristie Mewis are expecting a baby in 2025, with a collage of black and white photos showing an ultrasound scan and pointing to Mewis’s stomach. The news was met with celebrations from friends and fans, including well-wishes from the Matildas’ official Instagram page and fellow player Mary Fowler. Kerr and Mewis, who went public with their relationship in 2021, got engaged in 2023 and both represented their countries in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, with Kerr recently re-signing with Chelsea until 2026 and Mewis playing for West Ham United.
