Mass grave found near Syria’s capital could contain 100,000 bodies

A mass grave possibly containing thousands of bodies has been discovered near Damascus, Syria, as the new government vows to hold accountable those responsible for atrocities during Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Twelve mass graves were found in southern Syria, with evidence of executions and torture. The new administration aims to gather evidence and seek justice for crimes committed under Assad’s rule, while he denies fleeing until after Damascus fell and labels the current leaders as “terrorists.”
