Martu Families Strengthen Community Through Playgroup

Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa’s Punmu Women and Families team is successfully enhancing early childhood education for Martu families through culturally informed playgroups. With 168 attendances at 76 sessions last year, the program fosters positive learning environments for children up to five, blending Martu knowledge with Western education. Caregivers like Zoe Stevens praise the program for strengthening parent-child connections and preparing kids for school. This initiative supports both educational transition and employment opportunities, showcasing the resilience and commitment of Martu families.
