Security personnel are patrolling a sensitive area in Manipur as the Union home minister plans to deploy approximately 90 companies, totaling over 10,000 additional troops amid violence and killings. A security review meeting was held with Army, police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP officials to address the situation, with investigations into cases handed over to NIA. The funeral ceremonies for nine Meitei community members were conducted under tight security measures, with recent violence erupting in Manipur after six bodies were discovered, leading to protests and attacks on residences of BJP legislators and ministers.
