Tequila Thirst, a drag performer, and Abbie Ashall, a freelance event manager, are among those left unpaid following the collapse of Manchester Pride, a key LGBTQ+ charity. The organization announced its bankruptcy due to declining ticket sales, rising costs, and a failed Euro Pride bid, leaving artists and freelancers collectively owed around £50,000. Many had expected timely payments based on contracts, but the festival’s failure to pay has led to financial distress for those involved. The reasons behind the charity’s liquidation remain unclear, with the Charity Commission investigating the matter.
