Surapong Thongnak, 36, died after a grenade he threw at his ex-girlfriend Kanonraphat Saowakhon, 28, malfunctioned and exploded in his hands in Surat Thani, Thailand. Surapong, upset over their breakup, attempted to reconcile violently by trying to stab her and later launching the grenade, which bounced off a concrete pillar before returning to him. The explosion killed Surapong instantly and injured four others, including Saowakhon, who were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
