Several nurses were injured during an assault at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney on Saturday evening. At approximately 8:30 PM, police responded to reports of an attack involving a 51-year-old patient who inflicted serious injuries on a nurse’s leg and assaulted two other nurses and a security guard. Additionally, a 26-year-old woman attempting to protect a patient was also assaulted. Authorities used a Taser to subdue the assailant, who was subsequently arrested and transferred to a secure facility within the hospital. The injured nurse remains hospitalized, while the other victims received treatment at the scene. An investigation is being conducted by the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command.
